In 2025, globally exported fresh peaches including nectarines attained a total value of US$2.96 billion.

Unless otherwise specified in this article, peaches encompasses peaches and nectarines.

Exports of fresh peaches grew in value by an average 14.5% from 5 years earlier in 2021 when export sales for peaches equaled $2.58 billion.

Year over year, the overall value of peaches exported worldwide grew by 1.7% compared to $2.9 billion starting from 2024.

Peaches and nectarines are the same species of juicy fruits, albeit they are sold commercially as distinct products. Another difference is that peach skin is fuzzy while nectarines typically have smooth skin.

By value, the 5 biggest exporters of fresh peaches (Spain, Italy, Chile, United States of America and Türkiye) shipped well over two-thirds (70.7%) of all peaches exported during 2025.

Applying a continental perspective, countries in Europe supplied the highest dollar worth of exported peaches during 2025 with shipments valued at $1.9 billion or 63.8% of the global total. In second place were exporters in Asia (19%), Latin America (7.1%) excluding Mexico but including the Caribbean, North America (5.5%), Africa (3.5%), and Oceania (1.1%) mostly Australia.

Shifting our focus to imports, the 5 leading importers of peaches in 2025 are Germany, Russia, France, United Kingdom and Poland. Combined, that quintet of top import countries bought 43.7% of globally imported peaches as measured by dollar value.

Those percentages suggest the total 93 exporters of peaches (70.7% for corresponding top 5 exporters) is a more concentrated cohort compared to 176 buying countries, islands and territories. As mentioned above, the top 5 importers account for a smaller portion of its world total at 43.7%.

As for global imports of peaches by continent, 75.7% of peaches purchased on international markets was delivered to customers in Europe trailed by importers in Asia (13.8%), North America (8.5%), Latin America (1.3%) excluding Mexico but including the Caribbean, Africa (0.6%), and Oceania (0.1%) led by Australia and New Zealand.

We calculated the average unit price paid by peaches importers to be $1,895 per ton in 2025. That dollar amount reflects 22% in inflation from the average tonnage rate of $1,553 during 2024.

For research purposes, the 6-digit Harmonized Tariff System code prefix is 080930 for fresh peaches including nectarines.

By value, the listed 20 countries shipped 97.1% of globally exported peaches in 2025.

Among the top exporters, the fastest-growing peaches exporters since 2024 were: Azerbaijan (up 61.9%), Portugal (up 48.2%), Egypt (up 45.6%) and Germany (up 38.4%).

Major suppliers that posted year-over-year declines in their exported peaches sales were led by: Jordan (down -89.2% from 2024), Uzbekistan (down -85.1%), Türkiye (down -37.5%), Australia (down -26.1%) and Japan (down -15.2%).

The overall cost for imported peaches grew by 16.4% to US$3.17 billion in 2025 over the 5-year period starting from $2.73 billion in 2021 and rose by 6.4% year over year compared to $2.98 billion since 2024.

Below are the 20 best buying markets as measured by the highest dollar value worth of peaches imported during 2025.

By value, the listed 20 countries bought 82.3% of globally imported peaches in 2025.

Among the top importers, the fastest-growing peaches importers since 2024 were: Croatia (up 34.8%), Mexico (up 30.3%), Portugal (up 28.8%) and the United States of America (up 27.8%).

Those countries that posted year-over-year declines in their imported peaches purchases were Russia (down -21.7% from 2024) and Canada (down -19.3%).

In 2025, the world’s average unit price for imported fresh peaches was US$1,895 per ton.

The average tonnage charge for the number one peaches importer, Germany, was higher at $2,331.

Ranked in ascending order, listed below are the countries paying the lowest average unit prices for imported peaches in 2025.

Posting the severest double-digit percentage reductions in average unit price paid per ton for peaches were low-cost importers in: Tajikistan (down -64.6% from 2024), Mongolia (down -33.3%), Georgia (down -31.6%), Guyana (down -28.1%), Kazakhstan (down -22.3%) and Belize (down -19.9%).

The following countries paid the highest average unit prices for imported peaches.

The strongest increases in terms of higher average unit prices paid in 2025 compared to 2024 were experienced by importers in: Ghana (up 331.7% from 2024), Benin (up 300%), Cayman Islands (up 146.4%), Saint Lucia (up 133.3%) and Gambia (up 66.7%).
