Sunday on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC) said he is “very confident” that Republicans will keep control of the Senate after the midterm elections.

Host Kristen Welker said, “To the Cook Political Report. Six of the key battleground races have shifted out of Republicans favor since April. Texas and Iowa moved from lean Republican to toss up just this week. As chair of the National Republican Senatorial Committee, why do you think that so many of these Republican-leaning races have now moved to toss ups?”

Scott said, “Well, I am very confident that we will be in the majority at the end of November this year. You know, let me tell you why we are facing the most dangerous, radical and, frankly weird Democrats I’ve seen in my lifetime. Let’s start in Texas. James Talarico believes that God is non-binary. He’s a person who’s so out of step with Texans that we’re seeing a coalition building around our candidate, Paxton. Republicans, Democrats and independents coming together to make sure that James Talarico never sees the Senate floor. We’re going to turn your attention to Michigan, Abdul El-Sayed, the same kind of dangerous radical, weird candidate there all over the country. We feel really good about where we are.”
