The newly released Zpacks Duplex Pro has two zippered doorways and space for two wide sleeping bags, and it still only weighs 554 grams. Take a look at the brand’s latest and greatest version of this classic model, which doesn’t appear to skimp on details…

It’s hard to believe that it’s been six years since we reviewed the original Zpacks Duplex tent and Flex Freestanding Kit. Since then, Zpacks has released several variations of one of their most popular shelters, including the Duplex Zip, Duplex Lite, and now, the Duplex Pro. Like the others, the new Duplex Pro is made from durable Dyneema Composite Fabric with a symmetrical design that can be pitched in any direction using two trekking poles or optional tent poles that have a matching length. It can also be transformed into a freestanding tent using the Zpacks Duplex Flex Pole system.

According to Zpacks, the Duplex Pro is better suited to long-distance trips where comfort is just as important as weight. It has two pairs of independently opening zippered storm doors that can be deployed for vestibule space or secured with magnet toggles for airflow. The screen doors feature double-L zippers allowing them to drape to block mosquitoes or open fully to access your vestibules or enter on either side of the vertical poles. It also has a wider floor with enough room for two long/wide sleeping pads, as well as peak vents above both doors for added ventilation.

The Duplex Pro is available in two models. The “Lite” version has a 0.55 oz (per squar yard) DCF canopy, 0.75 oz DCF floor, and 1.3mm guy lines. The “Standard” version adds opacity and durability with a 0.75 oz DCF canopy, 1.0 oz DCF floor, and 2mm guy lines. The Lite model weighs 554 grams (19.5 ounces), and the Standard version weighs 650 grams (22.9 ounces). The weight of the tent doesn’t include stakes or poles, which increase the total weight by about 180 grams (6.3 ounces).

The Duplex Pro is made in the USA and comes seam-taped with a two-year limited warranty against defects in materials or workmanship. Both the Lite and Standard models cost $799 USD and include a stuff sack, DCF repair tape, and two spare zipper sliders, which adds an additional 17.5 grams to the weight of the tent.
