Launched today, Old Man Mountain now offers two racks that fit 32″ wheels. The new Elkhorn and existing Divide racks are compatible with the new wheel size, and the Elkhorn is now offered in three sizes—one specifically for 32” wheels. For more on these racks, check out the details below…

The Old Man Mountain 32er racks have hit the market, with the brand announcing that two of their offerings are compatible with the new wheel size. Though the design and size of their Divide rack remains unchanged, the brand is now positioning it as one that can be used with 32″ bikes. The Old Man Mountain Elkhorn 32 rack, however, is a new offering that sits 20mm taller than the existing Elkhorn Tall.

The Elkhorn now comes in three sizes: Short, Tall, and 32. The Short is designed for 27.5″ and 29″ wheels. It fits tires up to 27.5 x 2.8″ or 29 x 2.0″. The Tall size is designed for maximum mud clearance and tires up to 29 x 3.25″. As its name suggests, the new 32 size is for 32” wheels. Made to fit on both the front and rear, the 32 rack is made from 6061 aluminum, 1/2″ (13mm) diameter tubing. The deck measures 6.3″ x 10.5″ (161 mm x 266 mm) and includes slots to secure gear and positions for mounting a light. Per Old Man Mountain, the height from the mounting point to the deck is 371mm on the Short, 403mm on the Tall, and 423mm on the 32.

Like prior iterations, the Elkhorn 32 comes eyelet-mount ready, with optional fit kits available for thru-axle or quick-release. The rack has a load capacity of 25 pounds (11.34 kilograms) and is powder-coated black. The rack is made in Taiwan, comes with the brand’s lifetime warranty, and retails for $188.

Old Man Mountain Divide

Less of a product release and more of a nice-to-know, the brand has also announced that their Divide rack is compatible with 32″ bikes. Old Man Mountain says the Divide’s adjustable dropouts provide plenty of height for 32” wheels. However, they don’t specify how much clearance users will have at the new wheel size. I asked Erik Fenner at Old Man Mountain for more, and he said, “It’ll clear any 32-inch tire out there. It goes up to 435mm from axle to deck, so it’s even taller than the new Elkhorn 32.” With that in mind, all existing specs for the Divide rack apply to load capacity and dimensions.
