Clotaire Mandel’s sixth video documenting his ongoing journey from Alaska to Argentina spotlights his time spent pedaling along the Great Divide Mountain Bike Route in beautiful Montana. Find a visually rich look at one of his all-time favorite rides here…

With the 2025 Tour Divide in full swing, French bikepacker Clotaire Mandel recently felt inspired to edit and publish a video capturing the time he spent pedaling across Montana as part of his meandering ride from Alaska to Patagonia. His journey across the Americas is merely one segment in a 70,000-kilometer, seven-year expedition that has already taken him through 61 countries. Despite seeing so many spectacular places, Clotaire reflects on his route through Montana as a favorite stretch of the entire trip.

In his 25-minute video above, he shares an unhurried look at the sights and sounds of Montana as experienced from the saddle, meeting locals, making new friends, and riding rugged trails. Reflecting on the Tour Divide and the folks who come from all over the world to ride it down the spine of the United States, Clotaire wrote, “I have so much respect for them all, but still, I wonder why would you try to go as fast as possible through a land that inspires me to go slow, breathe, and enjoy.”
