Sunrisers Hyderabad’s batting juggernaut against Punjab Kings continues to rewrite the record books in the Indian Premier League, with their latest 200-plus total adding another chapter to a growing one-sided rivalry with the bat.With this effort, SRH now have eight 200-plus totals against PBKS, equalling Mumbai Indians’ record of eight such scores against Delhi Capitals. This is now the joint-most by any team against a single opponent in IPL history and highlights Hyderabad’s sustained dominance in this matchup.

Four of the top five scores between these sides have come in Hyderabad, including the record 247/2 in 2025. The trend is clear. When SRH get going against PBKS, it often turns into a boundary-hitting showcase.This innings followed a familiar pattern. Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head provided a flying start, before Heinrich Klaasen and Ishan Kishan made the most of dropped chances to pile on the runs. Klaasen’s 69 and Kishan’s 55 ensured there was no let-up, while Nitish Kumar Reddy added the finishing touches with a quick cameo.

The innings was also powered by clean hitting. SRH smashed 17 sixes, the most they have hit against PBKS in a single IPL innings. Abhishek set the tone early, while Klaasen and Kishan kept the pressure firmly on throughout.For PBKS, it was a difficult outing in the field. Yuzvendra Chahal picked up 1/32 but was left frustrated after dropped catches and a missed stumping denied him further success. Punjab’s fielding lapses proved costly on a surface that offered little assistance to the bowlers.The larger picture is hard to ignore. Whenever SRH face PBKS, big totals are becoming a regular feature. With eight 200-plus scores now in this rivalry, Hyderabad have firmly established this contest as one of the most dominant batting matchups in IPL history.
