ICICI Life Insurance Ltd’s board on Friday appointed Sidharatha Mishra as an Additional Director and Managing Director & CEO, for five years.

He currently heads the digital channels & partnerships, voice channel, customer service, NRI & IFIG groups of ICICI Bank Limited.

Mishra’s appointment is with effect from October 14, 2026, or the date of approval of the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India, whichever is later,the insurer said in a regulatory filing. 

This appointment follows the resignation of Anup Bagchi as MD & CEO of the insurer with effect from October 13, 2026. Bagchi will be taking over as the Chief of HDFC Bank from October 27, 2026.

In the run up to his assuming charge as MD & CEO of the insurer, Mishra will function as the Chief Operating Officer (COO), with effect from October 6, 2026.The Board has approved this appointment.
