Kartik Narayan, CEO, Apna.co
“The increase in the EPFO wage ceiling to ₹25,000 marks a significant step towards expanding social-security coverage across India’s workforce. For recruitment platforms like ours, it means a larger share of jobs and workers can come within the formal social-security framework. At the same time, employers particularly smaller businesses will need to factor higher statutory benefits into their hiring and compensation decisions. In the near term, this may influence how employers structure entry-level salaries and benefits, but over time, wider social-security coverage can strengthen the value of formal employment for both workers and businesses.”

Mr. Kamraj Singh Negi, Managing Director and CEO, Pantomath Capital on “IPO Fundraising Momentum and the Primary Market Outlook for 2026”
“The primary market has clearly regained momentum, with July and August accounting for nearly 60% of the ₹83,062 crore raised through IPOs so far in 2026. With the current pace of issuance and the depth of the pipeline, the market has the potential to surpass last year’s fundraising levels, although the eventual outcome will depend on market conditions and the timing of issuances. What makes the outlook for the remainder of the year particularly constructive is the depth of the pipeline: 167 companies already have SEBI approval, representing an estimated ₹3.06 lakh crore of potential issue size, while another 71 companies with an estimated ₹1.60 lakh crore are awaiting approval. This gives issuers considerable optionality to tap the market as conditions remain supportive.

New UPI MDR Framework Marks ‘Pivotal Moment’ for Digital Payments, Says NPST CEO
Deepak Chand Thakur, Managing Director & CEO, NPST, on the recent changes in UPI MDR on transactions above Rs. 2000
“The new framework for UPI marks a pivotal moment in India’s digital payments journey. Since its launch in 2016, UPI has transformed how India transacts, from street vendors to large enterprises, from metros to villages. The introduction of a sustainable MDR framework ensures that this remarkable public digital infrastructure can continue to grow, innovate, and serve every Indian for decades to come.
We commend the thoughtful design of this policy. By keeping 96% of merchant transactions and all person-to-person payments completely free, the framework protects the very foundation of UPI’s success – accessibility for common citizens and small merchants. The nominal 0.4% MDR on larger merchant transactions, which is significantly lower than credit card or debit card charges, creates a sustainable revenue model without burdening everyday users.
At NPST, we have been privileged to power the payment infrastructure for numerous banks and financial institutions over the past 13 years. We understand the complexity of building and maintaining systems that process billions of transactions securely and reliably. This policy acknowledges the real costs of operating such infrastructure and provides a path for continued investment in security, innovation, and expansion.
The framework also establishes a dedicated fund for promoting digital payments in Tier 3-6 cities, northeastern states, and among small merchants. This means the success of digital payments will directly fund greater financial inclusion across India.
NPST stands ready to support our bank and fintech partners in implementing this framework. Our teams are already working on solutions that will help the ecosystem transition smoothly by the October 15th deadline. We see this as an opportunity to deepen our commitment to India’s digital payments vision.
This policy change is the maturation of UPI from a government-supported initiative to self-sustaining financial market infrastructure. India has shown the world how to build inclusive digital public goods. Today, we are showing how to make them sustainable.”

Gold silver
Renisha Chainani, Chief Research Officer at Augmont, writes - Precious Metals Recover as Oil, Dollar Ease; Rate Path Still the Wildcard
Price Movement – Gold and silver clawed back some lost ground as softer oil prices and a weaker US dollar gave both metals room to breathe, even as traders kept one eye on the Middle East and the other on where global rate policy is headed next. The Bank of Japan pushed rates to a 31-year high and made clear it isn’t done tightening. The Bank of England, meanwhile, held steady on Thursday — but with a warning attached: rates could still move higher from here.
· Geopolitical Tensions – Supply-risk calculations are back on the table after Saudi Arabia and Yemen’s Iran-backed Houthis exchanged strikes on Thursday. In a notable diplomatic move, China has pressed Tehran to rein in the Houthis following their intensified military activity over the past week.
· Macro-Economic Signals – The Fed delivered a rate hike on Wednesday and signalled more are likely in the months ahead. Chair Kevin Warsh backed the unanimous call — a decision that, in effect, concedes the Trump administration has yet to get a handle on inflation, something policymakers still see as a risk to the outlook.
Technical Triggers
· Spot gold has support at $4,275 (~Rs 150,000); a sustained break below that level opens the door to the psychological $4,150 (~Rs 145,500) mark as the next line of defence, while resistance sits in the $4,430–4,500 (~Rs 155,000–156,000) band.
· Spot silver has carved out a Head and Shoulders pattern, with neckline support at $62.5 (~Rs 231,000) key to preserving its broader uptrend. A sustained break below that level would expose $60 (~Rs 220,000) and $57 (~Rs 210,000), while $67.5 (~Rs 244,000) caps the near-term upside.

Thomas J. Priju, Portfolio Manager, Karma Capital on NSE IPO
“We see NSE as a structural growth story, underpinned by the continued evolution of India’s capital markets. In our view, the exchange has the potential to emerge as a steady compounder over the long term and can be a meaningful long-term holding in a portfolio. In the near term, a resolution of the issues around the new closing auction mechanism (CAS) could provide an additional catalyst for the stock. Over a much longer horizon, as NSE’s role in India’s financial markets continues to deepen, the business is likely to command a valuation multiple more akin to that of a public utility.
There could be some selling on the listing day as certain pre-IPO investors, including eligible AIFs, can monetise their holdings. Other pre-IPO shareholders remain subject to a six-month lock-in period. This could create some temporary supply and provide a buying opportunity for long-term investors. The IPO saw 43% subscription on the first day, with institutional participation relatively muted at this stage. Given that QIB participation typically builds towards the end of the issue period, we would expect subscription levels to strengthen as the IPO progresses.”

India’s wealth management landscape is undergoing a structural shift, expanding beyond traditional HNIs as demand rises across diverse investor segments
Emkay Wealth Management notes that India is witnessing a structural shift towards comprehensive wealth management, with investors increasingly seeking advice across mutual funds, equities, PMS, AIFs, private credit, structured products, global assets, taxation, succession and estate planning. The opportunity is no longer restricted to traditional private banking or investment-product distribution and is also widening beyond traditional high-net-worth clients. HNIs currently account for an estimated 62.8% of the market, making them the largest segment. However, demand is increasingly coming from mass-affluent, affluent, HNI, UHNI, family-office and institutional clients. This broadening client base is expected to create a much larger addressable market for wealth managers.

Pranay Aggarwal, Director & CEO, Stoxkart on Fed Tightening May Pressure Rupee, FII Flows; Domestic Demand Could Support Indian Equities
The Federal Reserve’s 25-basis-point rate hike, coupled with indications of further tightening in 2026, reinforces a higher-for-longer interest-rate environment and could keep global financial markets volatile in the near term. Higher US yields and a stronger dollar may continue to influence capital allocation towards dollar assets, which could keep FII flows into emerging markets, including India, relatively cautious.
For India, the rupee is likely to remain under pressure from the stronger dollar, elevated crude oil prices and global risk aversion. However, the RBI’s active presence in the currency market and India’s sizeable foreign exchange reserves should help contain excessive volatility in the currency.
Indian equities may also experience intermittent pressure from foreign outflows and higher global yields, particularly in rate-sensitive and high-valuation segments. At the same time, resilient domestic demand, domestic institutional participation and earnings visibility could provide some support to the broader market.
For the RBI, the policy environment has become more challenging. The central bank will have to balance domestic inflation and currency stability against the need to support economic growth. Given the Fed’s renewed tightening cycle and prevailing inflationary pressures, the RBI is likely to remain cautious and data-dependent, with the trajectory of crude oil, the rupee and domestic inflation playing an important role in determining its next policy move.

Riya Sehgal Research Analyst Delta Exchange
Bitcoin is holding near the $76,000–$77,000 region despite a hawkish Federal Reserve, the Senate setback for the CLARITY Act and weak ETF demand. The resilience is notable given that spot Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs saw roughly $592 million in combined outflows earlier this week.
Technically, Bitcoin is attempting to build a short-term recovery structure after defending the $75,000 area. On the one-hour chart, price has moved back above key short-term moving averages, but the $77,100–$77,600 zone remains the main resistance cluster. A sustained break above this region would improve the recovery setup and could open the way toward $78,000 and higher. On the downside, $76,000 remains the first important support, followed by the $75,400–$75,000 area.
Ethereum is also recovering, trading around the $2,460 region after bouncing from the $2,360–$2,400 support zone. Resistance is concentrated around $2,480–$2,500, with a breakout potentially exposing $2,520–$2,560.
For now, the market appears to be consolidating rather than reversing decisively. Buyers are defending support, but stronger follow-through is needed before the broader trend improves.

Management reiterated that Middle East (ME) and domestic private sector are driving order flow.

Thermal BTG and offshore HVDC order books are sizable and execution should pick up in the medium-term.
Earnings visibility and global tensions easing are key upside drivers.
JPM on Hero Motocorp
OW, TP Rs 6845
Management meet key takeaways
(1) HMCL has reorganized into four independent business units (India commuter, India premium, EVs and Exports) to drive tangible measured outcomes in each segment;
(2) management views FY26 as an inflection to offset adverse category mix through market share gains in scooters, EVs and commuter;
(3) wholesale and retail trends may diverge near term as festival is delayed by 2-3 weeks;
(4) exports remain a key growth vector with a partnership-led “local-for-local” strategy and ambitions to scale towards >1m units by FY30;
(5) electrification is a multi-pronged strategy with VIDA and Ather both improving share simultaneously;
(6) overall margins should gradually improve as RM inflation plateaus and pricing flows through.
HMCL has been losing 120 bps of market share per year in recent years due to adverse segment shifts and share losses within segments.
Given its attractive valuation (13x FY28E P/E, adj. for associates), see scope for re-rating if HMCL can
(i) hold market share through the upcoming festive period on a YoY basis
(ii) (ii) close the growth gap vs. peers over the medium term, supported by stronger execution in ICE scooters, EVs and exports.
JPM on Payment Fintechs
Upgrade Paytm to OW, TP Raised to Rs 2100 from Rs1300
Estimate industry revenue pool from this MDR to be ~Rs170bn on a run rate basis for FY27.

Increase Paytm’s target PE multiple to 46x (from 44x)
Pinelabs acts as a acquiring PA, MDR benefits drive 9-28% Ebitda/EPS upgrades over FY27-29E

Bernstein on Zydus Life
O-P, TP Rs 1457
On September 16th, Novartis discontinued its drug VHB937 for Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS)
Believe this significantly improves commercial landscape for Zydus’ NCE candidate Usnoflast for this disease
Given these two drugs target different biological pathways, reiterate positive view on probability of success for Usnoflast
Key determinant of value remains whether Usnoflast can demonstrate a clinically meaningful slowing of disease progression in ongoing UNITE-ALS study
Zydus has already received Orphan designate status in ALS for this drug & has a priority review tag from the US FDA, both of which translate in high Return on Research Capital if clinical data is clean
Expect Usnoflast demonstrates meaningful efficacy in phase IIb and thus estimate that due to its oral administration and potential applicability across broad ALS populations it can generate $100Mn annual run rate with a faster ramp up than Saroglitazar
