Gogglebox star Scarlett Moffatt shared a heartbreaking family announcement with fans, days after the death of her 'mother-in-law'.

Scarlett Moffatt has revealed that her family has been hit with further heartbreak as her beloved grandad has died.

The Gogglebox star shared the news today, following the death of fiancé Scott Dobinson’s mum, Janice, earlier this week.

In a heartbreaking post on her Instagram story, the 35-year-old - who is pregnant with her second son - posted a snap with her loved ones, alongside the message: “Unfortunately, more sad news for our family this week. My grandad Moffatt has sadly passed away.

“Me, Scott and all our family really appreciate all of the love and kindness you’ve shown us following the loss of Janice and now my grandad. Thank you so much.”

In a subsequent story, the I’m A Celeb winner revealed how their eldest son, Jude, and their unborn child had kept them “smiling” through extremely tough times.

“In the middle of such a heartbreaking week, we went to see our little boy today,” Scarlett captioned a baby scan. “Seeing him wriggling away and knowing he’s doing well gave us a little moment to smile when we really needed it.”

Alongside a picture of Jude, she added: “And of course our little Jude to keep us smiling to [sic].”

Scarlett and former policeman Scott first started dating in 2019 and went on to welcome their first child in 2023 - they shared the news of their engagement at the end of that year.

In April, she confirmed that their second child was on the way, before telling fans that they would be introducing a baby boy together.

However, the couple have been faced with a tough few days as, over the weekend, the reality TV star announced that her “mother-in-law” Janice had died, describing her as “one of the loveliest people” she has ever known.

“My heart is broken for Scott and all of his family at the loss of his mam Janice,” she posted on social media at the time. “You were the best Nanna to Jude, the kindest mother-in-law and one of the loveliest people I’ve ever known.

“I’m so upset that you won’t get to meet your second grandson but I know you will be watching over us all, I’ll forever be grateful for all the love, kindness and warmth you showed me from the very beginning, and especially for the love you gave Jude.”

“You raised true gentlemen in both your boys, and that says everything about the incredible woman you were,” she added. “We will miss you more than words can say. Sleep peacefully Janice, our Nan Jan”.
