Custom Colombian bike builder Scarab Cycles updates their popular Páramo gravel bike family with more modern options to take on everything from fast champagne gravel to big backcountry bikepacking adventures. Right in that all-rounder sweetspot in the middle is this latest Scarab Páramo Integrated that now gets bumped up to 50mm tires max, and with its UDH and T47 is the perfect gravel bike just asking to get built up with one of SRAM’s new 13-speed Force or even Rival Xplr groupsets.

But building out a custom steel gravel bike hasn’t really gotten any easier, with now another amazing paint scheme to choose from in Scarab’s portfolio!

What’s new on the updated Páramo is mostly just a reshaped set of seatstays and chainstays that now boost tire clearance up to 50mm. We already got a look at the Colombian gravel bike’s optional carbon seattube and carbon seatmast option last summer when the optional integrated Colibrí Damping System was added to this and the Santa Rosa road bike.

Scarab also updated the Páramo gravel bike with a sleek steel UDH dropout, just in time for the latest wireless 13-speed drivetrain options, plus a worry-free T47 bottom bracket and optional full cable integration.

Scarab Páramo Integrated custom steel gravel bike, frameset detail

The newly updated Scarab Páramo Integrated is truly all about options. This is a custom steel gravel bike, built one-at-a-time just for you. And Scarab includes custom geometry standard, too. So you get exactly what you want. The Páramo Integrated starts at $3850 for a frameset including a full carbon Enve Integrated Gravel painted to match in a standard multi-color scheme, plus a Wolf Tooth integrated headset and all the small frame parts. It is designed for up to 50mm tires, but you can also have them build it a bit tighter if you prefer. If you don’t want the fully integrated setup, Scarab will also still build you one for a conventional headset for a couple hundred bucks less. Or they could build you a Páramo Ultra with up to 55mm tires if you are looking for bigger adventure.

They can also build one with their CDS carbon seatmasts for extra vibration damping for $800 more. And complete bike builds are possible too, starting around $7150 for the integrated 1x gravel bike.

Scarab Páramo Integrated custom steel gravel bike, Tropical Cliche

Next, one of the biggest draws of a custom Scarab is their wild finishes. This one, dubbed Tropical Cliché, an homage to the Chocó Jungle in Colombia, debuts this weekend at the Enve Builder Round-Up and Grodeo. It’s a perfect example of their artistic abilities, and love of hidden details. It’s a ‘less busy’ style like their Jungla paint scheme with a bit more white space. It will still cost you a bit extra, but seems surprising affordable though at $900 more considering all those details!
