Kylian Mbappe produced a goal and assist in the space of four first-half minutes as Real Madrid took an early 2-0 lead at home to Rayo Vallecano in La Liga on Saturday.

Last season’s Liga top scorer slotted a 14th-minute penalty past goalkeeper Emil Audero after Florian Lejeune tripped Alvaro Carreras.

Mbappe then played a neat one-two with Carreras inside the box three minutes later, allowing the left-back to fire in and put Los Blancos firmly on course to vanquish their first setback of the season in their last league game, losing 1-0 at Betis on September 4.
