The New England Patriots are set to place wide receiver A.J. Brown on injured reserve.

Brown made his debut for the Patriots on Wednesday following his offseason trade from the Philadelphia Eagles, as New England suffered a 13-10 defeat to the Seattle Seahawks in a rematch of last season’s Super Bowl.

The 29-year-old sustained a high-ankle sprain in that game and is now set to miss at least the next four weeks.

Adam Schefter of ESPN reported Brown will be placed on IR, though the move has yet to be made official.

Brown, who had 26 receiving yards on three catches against Seattle, will miss a difficult slate of fixtures for the reigning AFC champions.

The Patriots host the Pittsburgh Steelers next week before going on the road to face the Jacksonville Jaguars and Buffalo Bills. They then welcome the Las Vegas Raiders to Foxborough, with the first game in which Brown could return coming against the New York Jets on October 18.
