An 18-year-old has been arrested for allegedly stabbing his 4-year-old brother to death.

An 18-year-old has been arrested for allegedly stabbing his four-year-old brother to death in Walmer, the Eastern Cape, during the early hours of Sunday.
According to police spokesperson Captain Sandra Janse van Rensburg, officers responded to a murder complaint at a residence on Tshanga Street, Walmer location, at approximately 01:45.
Upon arrival, they discovered the lifeless body of the young boy lying in a pool of blood inside the house.
“Preliminary investigations revealed that the victim had been sleeping in a room shared with his older brother. The concerned parents, upon checking on the children, found the four-year-old covered in blood with visible stab wounds. They immediately contacted the police for assistance.
“While at the scene, police arrested the 18-year-old suspect for the murder. The motive for the attack remains unknown and is part of ongoing investigations,” said Van Rensburg.
The suspect is expected to appear in the Gqeberha Magistrate’s Court, where he will face a murder charge.
