‘Lavanyam 2026’, the annual Onam celebrations organised by the Tourism department, District Tourism Promotion Council, and the district administration, will be held from August 24 to 30.

Apart from the main venue of Durbar Hall open air auditorium, around 40 cultural programmes will be staged across 15 venues in the district. They include Veli ground in Fort Kochi, North Paravur, Kothamangalam, Piravom, Perumbavoor, Palluruthy, Pampakuda, Vypeen, Muvattupuzha, Kuttampuzha, Kadamprayar, Vasco Da Gama Square, and Kumbalanghi.

The inaugural function will be held at the Durbar Hall ground on August 24. It will be followed by Sinkarimelam, Sopana Sangeetham, and a cultural fete by differently abled people. A musical concert by Stephen Devassy will be the highlight of the day.

Onasadya will be served at Kuttampuzha Panthapra colony where residents will also be given new clothes on August 25. A musical concert by composer duo Berny-ignatius will be held at the Durbar Hall ground. A spring festival featuring cultural forms from Jammu and Kashmir, Haryana, Gujarat, Maharashtra, and Telangana organised by Bharat Bhavan and the Cultural department will be held on Thiruvonam day on August 26.

A Pulikali performance and a live music fusion will be staged on August 27, while Kalamezhuthupattu, Sarppampattu will be held on August 28. A dance show by St. Albert’s College and a mega show by actor Guinness Pakru will mark the conclusion of the week-long celebrations.
