Amid problems in the registration of properties over e-khata, revenue collection from registrations increased by 13.31% even as the Department of Stamps and Registration failed to meet the target set for the financial year. The number of document registration also came down by 2.16% in the period.

While the target of ₹28,000 crore had been set for 2025-2026, the department was able to collect ₹25,493.79 crore, missing the target by ₹2,506 crore or about 8.9%. The number of documents registered stood at 22.88 lakh, about 50,500 documents less than what were registered in 2024-2025.

The department had missed the target in 2024-2025 too when it mopped up ₹22,498 crore as against the target of ₹26,000 crore.
