Help The Blind Foundation (HTBF) has requested Andhra University to inform principals of its affiliated colleges that its authorised volunteer will coordinate scholarship applications from students with visual impairment for the 2026-27 academic year.
In a letter to the University, the foundation said volunteer V. Narayan Rao had been authorised to interact with eligible students, explain the scholarship programme, guide them on eligibility and documentation, assist with applications, and coordinate with colleges where necessary.
HTBF, a charitable trust established in 2010, supports visually impaired students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds through scholarships, mentorship, employability training, English language learning, assistive technology support and career guidance.
The foundation has also requested the University to nominate a coordinator for an introductory meeting on August 5 at Waltair Club, Visakhapatnam, where its representatives will present the organisation’s programmes and activities.
