Orgo-Life the new way to the future Advertising by AdpathwayHarry Maguire's future at Manchester United remains unclear with his contract winding down and no new offer forthcoming from Old Trafford despite continued talks
Harry Maguire's Manchester United future remains unclear with the centre-half into the final year of his contract - and no formal offer yet made to the 32-year-old.
United triggered the 12-month extension in the six-year, £190,000-a-week contract that Maguire had signed when he moved to Old Trafford from Leicester in 2019. If the club want to retain the England international they will have to offer him fresh terms.
Maguire was their man of the moment on Sunday as he headed home the winner at Anfield - ending a near decade-long wait for a win at Liverpool. The defender remains a crucial figure for the club despite several notable lows during his time at the Red Devils.
Given Maguire is now in the final eight months of his deal he could sign a pre-contract with foreign clubs from January 1. The Daily Mail report that regular discussions continue between the club and the player but a decision from the hierarchy is yet to be made.
Formal talks have yet to take place and there is no offer on the table. Any chance of Maguire taking a pay cut would depend on the length of a new contract being offered to him.

He scored in the final minute of extra-time to beat Lyon in last season's Europa League. In the aftermath of his winner in Liverpool it might have been his last appearance there in a United shirt.
He said: "I’m in my last year now, so this could be the last time I played at Anfield for this club. It’s really important that I’ve come here and ticked that one off."
Maguire was linked with a move to West Ham when Erik ten Hag, who stripped him of the captaincy, was in charge. Back in the summer United rejected bids from clubs at home and abroad for their defender. Retaining homegrown talent is a priority for the club.
Maguire is one of only four over the age of 21, and veteran goalkeeper Tom Heaton is likely to leave at the end of the season. Premier League teams are only allowed a maximum of 17 non-homegrown players, furthering their need to keep English talent in Manchester.
