SAN JOSÉ, Costa Rica — The municipal gymnasium of Desamparados reopened on September 4 following a comprehensive renovation that features state-of-the-art injury-prevention flooring.

Advanced Shock-Absorption Surface

The upgraded court floor absorbs joint impacts during jumps, stops, and sharp pivots, directly reducing common injuries in sports like basketball, volleyball, and futsal.

Cross-Party Political Support

Legislators from opposing political parties united in support of the project, agreeing that sports infrastructure represents a crucial social investment for local youth and athletes.

“When the goal is a tangible project with direct community benefits, collaboration among different political forces is indeed achievable.”
