Adelaide Crows defender Josh Worrell has been reported by police and will face court over a traffic crash last week.

Worrell, 25, was allegedly involved in a collision involving a pedestrian on Port Road at Woodville on Friday morning.

In a statement, police said the pedestrian — a 29-year-old man — allegedly "sustained injuries and was taken to hospital by the driver".

Police said the crash happened about 8:30am on Friday.

Worrell will appear in court at a later date.

On Friday, the club confirmed that one of its players had been involved in a vehicle accident involving a pedestrian, and it today released a subsequent statement.

"The Adelaide Football Club is aware of one of its players being reported by South Australia Police for aggravated driving without due care and failing to present to police within 90 minutes after a collision which resulted in injury," it said.

"It follows the player being involved in a traffic accident last Friday morning. Given the matter is now subject to legal proceedings, the club is not in a position to provide any further detail."

Following the crash, Worrell missed the Crows' morning training.

But he lined up for the Crows in the club's 79-point win over Gold Coast on Saturday night.

At a media conference on Tuesday, Crows coach Matthew Nicks briefly alluded to the crash.

"It's been a pretty challenging few days for Josh [that] he's working through after his accident," Nicks said.

"We're just doing whatever we can to support him through that."
