Orgo-Life the new way to the future Advertising by AdpathwayCanada held a solo celebration marking the opening of the Gordie Howe International Bridge on Friday amid escalating trade tensions with the U.S. Asked about the revenue-sharing agreement between Canada and the U.S., Housing and Infrastructure Minister Gregor Robertson said construction of the bridge was a long-term investment and that “Canada will be paid back” in over 50 years. Canada fronted the $6.4 billion to build the bridge, named after iconic Canadian hockey player Gordie Howe. Robertson said it was “a long journey” to get to opening day, adding that both Windsor and Detroit residents had “big expectations” for the landmark, which will connect Windsor, Ont., and Detroit, Mich. The Gordie Howe Bridge is due to open to traffic on Monday.
