He did promise that he would be back!

Thirty years after first stepping into the role of Father Christmas, Arnold Schwarzenegger is returning to the festive season – this time taking on the role of Santa Claus once again.

The legendary action star is swapping his usual action-hero duties for a rather different kind of mission… saving Christmas! From the teaser trailer released by Prime Video, it appears that the holiday period is in serious trouble after Santa’s magical bag is stolen.

With Christmas hanging in the balance, Santa is forced to turn to an unlikely ally – a thief who happens to be on his naughty list. Together, the pair must track down the missing bag and save Christmas before it’s too late.

The premise looks set to combine the magic. and charm of a traditional Christmas movie with plenty of action and comedy. While Schwarzenegger may be better known by most for battling robots, saving the world and delivering some of cinema’s most memorable one-liners, his return to the role of Santa promises to showcase a very different side of the actor.

Directed by Alan Shankman, the film also features an impressive cast – including Alan Ritchson, Liza Koshy and Awkwafina.

With it’s mix of Christmas magic, comedy, adventure and action, the film looks set to offer a fresh twist on the festive movies audiences know and love. And for Schwarzenegger fans, there is the added novelty of seeing the actor return to a role he first played three decades ago.
