NEW DELHI: Slamming the police action on protests against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar on Gandhi Jayanti, Congress Lok Sabha MP Rahul Gandhi on Friday said the CEC will ultimately be forced out, as would be the system that appointed him.

“He will go. Because a lathi can stop a crowd, but not a question,” the leader of the opposition said.On X, Rahul said thousands of youngsters were protesting peacefully against “vote chori” and the resignation of CEC Kumar to save democracy, but the Modi-Shah government replied by dragging the boys and girls through the streets and arresting them. “That is what Bapu taught us – speak the truth and fight peacefully. And that is what scares the govt the most,” he added.
