Al Ittihad v Al Nassr Saudi Pro League preview

Al-Ittihad will look to preserve their unbeaten start to the 2026-27 Saudi Pro League season when they face traditional rivals Al-Nassr at Al Inma Stadium on Saturday.

The hosts have taken eight points from their opening four matches, while Al-Nassr have won all four of their league games and sit second in the table.

The visitors have won all four of their league matches so far, scoring 12 goals and conceding just three.

Ange Postecoglou’s side opened their campaign with a 3-0 victory over Al-Fateh before producing an even more convincing display in a 4-0 win at Al-Riyadh.

Al-Nassr then produced their most impressive result of the season so far, recovering from two goals down to beat Al-Ettifaq 3-2 thanks in part to a Sadio Mane brace.

Al-Ittihad completed the signing of Colombian midfielder Richard Rios on Thursday and will be hoping to have him registered in time for Saturday’s Saudi Clasico.

Dion Lopy was sent off against Al-Qadsiah but is expected to be available for this match, while Hamed Al-Ghamdi remains out with a cruciate ligament injury.

Steven Bergwijn scored twice from the penalty spot in the 3-2 win over Al-Hazem but was unable to make the same impact against Al-Fateh. The former Tottenham winger is nevertheless expected to keep his place in the starting XI.

Al-Nassr will be without goalkeeper Bento after his red card against Al-Ettifaq.

Nawaf Al-Aqidi is therefore expected to start between the posts.

Al-Ittihad have made a respectable start to the season and should provide Al-Nassr with a much tougher test than some of their previous opponents.

However, the hosts have struggled to find the net consistently, while Al-Nassr have already shown their quality in attack and have won all four of their league matches.

With Ronaldo, Mane, Coman and Felix among the attacking options available to Postecoglou, Al-Nassr should have enough firepower to come away with another three points.
