As many as 11 districts in Kerala are bracing for heavy rains on Tuesday (October 21, 2025).
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Idukki, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode and Wayanad.
An intensified low pressure area, which threatens to turn into an intense depression, over the south east Arabian sea has triggered the current spell of rains. The IMD has forecast that the north east monsoon will likely intensify over Kerala in the next 48 hours.
