Edmund Kemper, nicknamed the "Co-Ed Killer," terrorized the area around Santa Cruz County in California, but it was 1,377 miles away from the city itself, in Pueblo, where he would call the authorities, confess his crimes and surrender to the Pueblo Police Department.
