WestJet has reached a tentative deal with the union representing more than 4,000 flight attendants, ending the very disruptive but brief one-day strike. The airline says 250,000 of its passengers were affected by the labour dispute. “This tentative agreement represents meaningful progress on the issues we brought to the table,” said CUPE local 8125 president Alia Hussain in a news conference Monday. “It improves on the long-standing flight credit system by recognizing more of the work that cabin crew are required to perform and increasing the compensation for that work.” Seán O'Shea reports on what's known about the agreement, and how frustrated travellers are trying to get to their destinations.
