U.S. President Donald Trump answered questions in the Oval Office Monday and doubled down on his remark to "declare" the Strait of Hormuz a U.S. territory. "Well, I just think it's a great idea. Yeah, I mean we control it. We control it with the blockade. We have a blockade. We control it with the blockade, and I like the idea of declaring it a territory. We can do that. We have total control over the strait," he said. Speaking of the memorandum of understanding with Iran, he said that Iran would not make the type of deal with the United States that he thought was necessary, while mentioning Iran did want to make a deal. "Look, we're in there for one reason: Iran cannot have a nuclear weapon. You understand that. Iran cannot have a nuclear weapon. And they won't have a nuclear weapon," Trump said.
