NEW DELHI: Responding to remarks by exiled Bangladeshi author Taslima Nasreen, Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke on Monday said comparisons between the group's protests and student movements in Bangladesh and Nepal were misplaced."Protests in Bangladesh, Nepal are being used to defame us; we are different," Dipke told PTI.Nasreen had on Sunday drawn parallels between the CJP-led protests in Delhi over alleged examination irregularities and the 2024 student-led movement in Bangladesh that led to the fall of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's government.

She said the student movement in Bangladesh had "fooled us".In a separate development, CJP extended support to students protesting alleged irregularities in recruitment examinations in Jharkhand, as a student leader began an indefinite hunger strike demanding an independent investigation into the recruitment process.Dipke said he spoke to student leaders through a video call on Sunday night and backed their demands. "The CJP stands with all the students in Jharkhand and supports their demands," he wrote in a social media post.
