MI London (MIL) continued their impressive campaign in The Hundred Men’s 2026 with a convincing 45-run victory over Manchester Super Giants (MSG) at the Kia Oval. While the hosts piled up their highest total of the season thanks to explosive knocks from Will Jacks and Nicholas Pooran, it was Rashid Khan who stole the show with a match-winning spell that completely dismantled the visitors’ batting lineup.

One of the biggest highlights of the contest came early in Manchester Super Giants’ chase when Rashid made an early impact. The stunning delivery shifted the momentum firmly in MI London’s favour and marked the beginning of a remarkable spell from the Afghan leg-spinner.

Rashid Khan castles Tim Seifert with a magical googly

The breakthrough came on the 30th ball of the chase as Rashid deceived Tim Seifert with a perfectly disguised googly. Looking to swipe the ball through the leg side, the New Zealand wicketkeeper-batter completely misread the variation and was beaten on the inside edge.

The delivery crashed into middle and leg stump, leaving Seifert stunned after scoring 17 off 12 balls. Rashid celebrated in his trademark style with both hands raised as the packed Kia Oval crowd erupted following another piece of spin-bowling brilliance from one of the world’s finest T20 bowlers.

Rashid’s five-for seals dominant victory for MI London

Earlier in the match, MI London posted an imposing 183/6 after being asked to bat first. Jacks led the charge with a blistering 62 off just 31 deliveries, while Pooran smashed 54 from only 28 balls to power the hosts to their highest total of the tournament. Manchester Super Giants started brightly through Aiden Markram, who raced to a 25-ball half-century, but Rashid completely changed the complexion of the contest.

After dismissing Seifert, he quickly removed Jos Buttler before later accounting for Heinrich Klaasen, Tom Moores and Liam Dawson to complete his maiden five-wicket haul in The Hundred. Rashid finished with outstanding figures of 5 for 17, helping bowl out Manchester Super Giants for 138. The comprehensive victory lifted MI London to second place in the standings, while Manchester Super Giants remained in contention for a knockout berth despite suffering their latest defeat.
