Sreekrishna Temple, Guruvayur, Kerala, on Tuesday (August 4, 2026) rolled out its much-awaited virtual queue system for darshan, marking a major step towards ensuring a smoother and more organised pilgrimage experience.

The system was inaugurated by Guruvayur Devaswom chairman A.V. Gopinath at a function held near the entrance to the Bhagavathy shrine at the temple’s East Nada around 6.30 a.m.

Despite intermittent rain and inclement weather, more than 100 devotees successfully had darshan through the virtual queue during the first slot from 7 a.m. to 8 a.m. As many as 1,800 devotees had booked virtual queue slots up to 1 p.m.

Under the trial arrangement, devotees must report at the designated virtual queue entrance — located at the northern end of the queue complex at the East Nada — at least 30 minutes before their scheduled time. They must carry the booking receipt and the same government-issued identification document used while making the online reservation, as it will be verified by security personnel.

For the trial phase, virtual queue darshan will be available on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7 a.m. to noon, and again from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. Around 300 devotees will be allowed entry during each one-hour slot.
