Journalist claims Chiranjeevi revealed the marriage

In an interview with Siddharth Kannan on his YouTube channel, veteran journalist Jyoti Venkatesh revealed that actor Chiranjeevi was the one who first told him about the alleged marriage. Venkatesh recalled, "Chiranjeevi told me, 'Jyoti, as a journalist, you write about everything; then why did you not write about Ram Gopal Varma's marriage to Urmila?'" He said Chiranjeevi told him the wedding took place in a temple in Andhra Pradesh and even shared the priest's phone number as proof.Before publishing the story, Venkatesh said he called Urmila to confirm it, but the call left her in tears. She reportedly told him, "How can you write about me like that? You have known me since I entered the industry." The journalist added that he also approached RGV, who declined to comment on the matter.

Urmila reportedly wanted the relationship made official

Venkatesh further claimed that Urmila wanted to formalise her relationship with RGV through marriage, but the filmmaker was reluctant, which eventually led to their separation.

The two had worked closely together through the 1990s and early 2000s.
