After surviving a cruel poisoning attack that nearly claimed her life, little Frida is hoping someone will finally give her the one thing she's never had - a safe and loving forever home

Alarming statistics show an estimated 100,000 dogs are homeless in the UK. The RSPCA recorded nearly a 25% surge in animal abandonments driven by the cost of living crisis.

The heart-wrenching figures speak for themselves and for one dog, all she's ever wanted is a loving home. It's devastating to learn this is a sad case for many animals on a daily basis, and Frida's story is no different. The dog miraculously survived an act of unimaginable cruelty when she was living peacefully on a beach in Greece.

The two-and-a-half Kangal cross saw her life change instantly when she and another female stray were forcibly removed and dumped in a remote village where they weren't welcome. Despite being known for her gentle personality and love of people, including children, Frida quickly became a target. Shortly after arriving, rescuers found the large dog frothing at the mouth after someone deliberately poisoned her.

Thankfully, emergency treatment saved her life.

Now speaking about her rescue, a Greek Stray ResQ rescue worker, said: "I haven't added the graphic images of her frothing at the mouth from being poisoned But it really is a miracle that she survived.

"If ever a dog deserve to have a loving home this beautiful gentle giant is one of them."

Resilient Kangal Cross Frida Ready For UK Adoption

After weeks of care, Frida made a full recovery and has refused to let her horrific ordeal change who she is.

Remarkably, despite surviving the worst of human cruelty, she still adores people and greets everyone she meets with kindness.

The calm and affectionate Kangal mix is described as incredibly friendly, social and well suited to family life.

She loves spending time with people and has a particularly gentle nature around children.

Now safe in the care of rescuers, Frida is healthy and preparing for the next chapter of her life - but what she needs most is a family willing to give her the love and security she's never known.

Her rescuers say Frida has already proved just how resilient she is, overcoming a near-fatal poisoning and learning to trust people all over again.

Now they hope someone will open their heart to the gentle giant and give her the happy ending she deserves.

Frida is currently in Greece but is eligible to travel internationally, including to the UK, once she finds a suitable adopter.
