The government has nominated Najeeb Kanthapuram and Mohammed Shiyas, MLAs from Perinthalmanna and Kochi respectively, to the Syndicate of Cochin University of Science and Technology (Cusat).

They were nominated under the legislators’ category. Seven other members from different sections have also been included in the newly reconstituted Syndicate.

Mr. Kanthapuram’s nomination was based on his initiatives in the education sector, including the Kriya education programme implemented in the Perinthalmanna constituency. The programme includes a civil service academy.
