U.S. President Donald Trump took to social media on Thursday to celebrate what he called a “big win” over California Gov. Gavin Newsom, after an appeals court ruled that he could keep National Guard troops deployed in Los Angeles. The appeals court decision halts a ruling from a lower court judge who found Trump acted illegally by activating soldiers over opposition from Newsom.
