U.S. President Donald Trump hailed the United States Supreme Court on Friday for ruling that individual judges lack the authority to grant nationwide injunctions on birthright citizenship. Trump called the ruling a "monumental victory for the Constitution," adding that the birthright citizenship had been put into place for "babies of slaves." He said that the right has been exploited by "cartels" to get "very bad people in the country." The final ruling on the legality of the citizenship will be decided in October, U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi said. Trump said he's optimistic the court will rule in their favour. Trump also thanked the Supreme Court for ruling that Tennessee's ban on gender-affirming care for minors does not illegally discriminate against individuals based on sex or transgender status.
