Police launched an investigation after a teenage girl was found dead in the water at Kingsbury Water Park, Warwickshire, at around 7.20pm on Bank Holiday Monday

Police have retrieved the body of a teenage girl from Kingsbury Water Park in Warwickshire.

Officers were dispatched to Bodymoor Heath Lane shortly after 6pm on Monday May 25. Emergency services responded after concerns were raised about a teenage girl in the water. A search was carried out across Kingsbury Water Park, leading to the discovery of a body at approximately 7.20pm. Paramedics fought desperately to save the girl, but she was tragically pronounced dead at the scene. Her family have since been notified.

An investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death is now underway. Officers will be maintaining a presence at Kingsbury Water Park over the coming days and have appealed to the public to refrain from speculating about the incident.

A spokesman for Atherstone and Coleshill Police said: "We can confirm that, sadly, the body of a teenage girl was recovered from the water shortly after 7.20pm. Despite the efforts of emergency services, she was pronounced deceased at the scene.", reports Coventry Live.

"Her next of kin has been informed, and they are being supported by specially trained officers. Over the coming days, we will have officers in the area providing reassurance, so if you have any questions, please speak to them.

"An investigation into the circumstances has begun, and we would ask people to avoid speculation about what has happened. Our thoughts remain with her family and friends during this difficult time."
