Countries Earning Best Trade Surpluses from Lead

The following countries posted the highest positive net exports for lead during 2025. Investopedia defines net exports as the value of a country’s total exports minus the value of its total imports. Thus, the statistics below present the surplus between the value of each country’s exported lead and its import purchases for that same commodity.

  1. Australia: US$777.9 million (net export surplus down -2% since 2024)
  2. Canada: $450.8 million (up 31.4%)
  3. South Korea: $301.9 million (down -13.9%)
  4. Mexico: $291.1 million (up 88.4%)
  5. Belgium: $211.3 million (down -21.8%)
  6. Bulgaria: $206.1 million (up 0.8%)
  7. Sweden: $144.5 million (up 31.9%)
  8. United Kingdom: $121.4 million (down -9.8%)
  9. Kazakhstan: $101.7 million (down -44.9%)
  10. Lebanon: $92.8 million (up 146.5%)
  11. Saudi Arabia: $85.9 million (down -19%)
  12. United Arab Emirates: $69 million (up 1337.7%)

  14. Ghana: $55.5 million (up 20.7%)
  15. Japan: $52.6 million (down -35.6%)

As was the case in the prior year, Australia generated the highest surplus in the international trade of lead during 2025. In turn, this positive cashflow confirms Australia’s strong competitive advantage for this specific product category.

Countries Facing Worst Trade Deficits from Lead

The following countries posted the highest negative net exports for lead during 2025. Investopedia defines net exports as the value of a country’s total exports minus the value of its total imports. Thus, the statistics below present the deficit between the value of each country’s imported lead purchases and its exports for that same commodity.

  1. United States: -US$1 billion (net export deficit up 49.1% since 2024)
  2. Vietnam: -$605.2 million (up 10.8%)
  3. Singapore: -$333.2 million (up 0.8%)
  4. mainland China: -$261.3 million (down -26.4%)
  5. Türkiye: -$254.8 million (up 3.2%)
  6. Czech Republic: -$183.5 million (down -18.8%)
  7. Italy: -$178.6 million (down -9.5%)

  14. Slovenia: -$83.8 million (up 21.9%)
  15. Germany: -$76.3 million (up 6.7%)

The United States of America incurred the highest deficit in the international trade of lead. In turn, this negative cashflow highlights America’s competitive disadvantage for this specific product category but also signals opportunities for lead-supplying countries that help satisfy the powerful demand.
