Unshelled almondsCombined exports of shelled plus in-shell almonds by country totaled US$9.2 billion during 2025.
That dollar amount results from a 30.8% advance for all almonds shippers over the five-year period starting in 2021 back when exported almonds were worth $7 billion.
Year over year, the overall value of exported almonds accelerated by 20.8% compared to $7.6 billion starting from 2024.
The international trade of almonds is highly concentrated on the supply side. The top 5 exporters of almonds are the United States of America, Australia, Spain, Türkiye and the Netherlands. Collectively, that cohort of main suppliers generated 90.5% of the world’s total almond exports as measured in US dollars.
From a continental perspective, exporters in North American countries (principally the United States of America) sold the highest dollar worth of both shelled and in-shell almonds shipped during 2025. Sellers in North America accounted for a combined value of $6.1 billion or roughly two-thirds (66.3%) of the global total.
In second place were exporters based in Europe at 18.2% while 9.8% of worldwide shipments of almonds originated from Oceanian exporters, mostly based in Australia.
Suppliers in Asia sold another 4.9% worth of almonds well ahead of shippers in Latin America (0.6%) excluding Mexico but including the Caribbean, then suppliers in Africa (0.2%).
For research purposes, the 6-digit Harmonized Tariff System (HTS) code prefix is 080211 for fresh or dried almonds in shell, 080212 for unshelled almonds.

Among the above countries, the fastest-growing exporters of almonds since 2021 were: Portugal (up 755.2%), Australia (up 226.8%), Türkiye (up 108.2%) and Vietnam (up 99.1%).
The United Arab Emirates (down -86.4%) and Belgium (down -33.3%) were the two leading suppliers that posted 5-year declines in their exported almonds sales.
Exports of Shelled Almonds by Country
Worldwide exports of shelled almonds totaled US$7.1 billion in 2025 or 76.9% of all almond exports (up from 76.2% for 2024). That dollar amount reflects a 30.1% gain for all shelled almonds shippers over the five-year period starting in 2021. Year over year, the value of shelled almond exports accelerated by 30.1% from 2024 to 2025.
Among continents, North American countries accounted for the highest dollar worth of exported shelled almonds during 2025 with shipments valued at $4.43 billion or 62.9% of the global total. In second place were exporters in Europe at 22.4%, followed by competitors in Oceania at 8% mostly Australia. Another 5.7% was furnished by providers in Asia. Just 0.8% came from Latin America excluding Mexico but including the Caribbean, trailed by the 0.2% supplied by sellers in Africa.

Global sales for exported in-shell almonds by country equaled US$2.12 billion or 23.1% of all almond exports in 2025.
Overall, the value of exported unshelled almonds rose by an average 33.1% for all exporting countries since 2021.
Year over year, the value of in-shell almond exports expanded by 17.4% compared to 2024.
Among continents, providers in North American countries accounted for the highest dollar worth of in-shell almonds exported during 2025 with shipments valued at $1.64 billion or 77.5% of the global total. In second place were Oceanian exporters at 15.8% (mostly Australia) whereas 4.1% were shipped by exporters in Europe. Another 2.5% worth of unshelled almonds originated from Asia trailed by suppliers in Africa (0.1%), then sellers in Latin America (0.02%) excluding Mexico but including the Caribbean.
