Three people from Tumakur died, and two others suffered serious injuries when a car rammed into a truck parked near Kottigehara in Mudigere taluk of Chikkamgaluru early hours of Saturday (August 8, 2026).

The deceased have been identified as Guru Kiran (28), Mohan (30), and Jnanesh (28).

Prem Kumar and Hrithik suffered serious injuries. They have been shifted to Hassan for treatment.

They were heading to Dharmasthala in Dakshina Kannada district.

The car rammed into the truck, filled with LPG cylinders, parked near a petrol bunk. The incident occurred in Banikal police station limits.
