Wolf Tooth Components introduced their Performance tier in 2020 with the launch of the Premium Headsets and Performance Headsets. The idea is to offer the same high-quality components, but at a lower price point with fewer bells and whistles. Today, Wolf Tooth expanded its Performance lineup to include pedals and is kicking things off with the Performance CTRL clipless and Waveform flat pedals.
The CTRL Performance Clipless Pedals feature the same look as the standard CTRL Clipless Pedals, but have a forged/post-machined aluminum body with a chrome-plated chromoly axle and binding hardware. The pedal is 16mm thick, weighs 370 grams, and has a non-adjustable 55mm Q factor. It’s available in five colors: black, raw silver, red, orange, and gold.
The Waveform Performance Pedals have a design that’s more of a departure from the standard version. The body is forged/post-machined aluminum, and the chrome-plated chromoly axle has nine grip pins (vs. 11 on the original). The body is 16mm thick on the sides and 13.5mm at the center with a 1.25mm concavity. It features a two-year warranty and comes in five colors: back, raw silver, red, orange, and gold.
Like their other components, Wolf Tooth offers a selection of small parts to keep users’ pedals running smoothly. An additional four grip pins are included with each set of pedals, and Wolf Tooth has video guides online so customers can disassemble, service, and reassemble the pedals at home. Unlike a lot of their other offerings, these pedals are made in Taiwan.
Performance Series Pedals are available today from WolfToothComponents.com and from any bike shop that stocks Wolf Tooth. Retail pricing is $160 USD per set of pedals, which is $40 less than the standard version.
