The Takagi Light Mount is for riders who want an additional position for a light under the cargo area of their Wald basket. Secured with zip ties, it’s a 45 x 35 x 75mm stainless steel bar hand-bent by the device’s creator, Motoyuki Takagi. Motoyuki was a student at the Tokyo College of Cycle Design in Shibuya, where he’s continued to work and contribute even after graduating.

The light mount uses its U-shape to support a series of washers and bolts that any M5-threaded light mount can use. It’s available through CRUMBWORKS in Japan for $26 and is sold with all the necessary hardware, save for the light extension. Motoyuki says the idea behind the design was to let users decide where they want to mount their light based on their unique needs. Some prototypes were laser cut, but he liked being involved in the process, so he landed on the hand-bent final iteration. Because he makes them all himself, each light mount will differ slightly.
