Borussia Dortmund have signed Arsenal attacking midfielder Ethan Nwaneri on a season-long loan.
The 19-year-old, who in 2022 became the youngest player in Premier League history when he made his debut at 15 years and 181 days, is set for another temporary spell away from North London after spending the second half of the previous campaign on loan at Marseille.
Nwaneri, who has scored 10 goals in his Gunners career and netted twice for Marseille last term, joins a Dortmund side that suffered a significant setback after new signing Giannis Konstantelias suffered a torn ACL on his debut against Hamburg last Saturday.
Lars Ricken, Dortmund’s Managing Director of Sports, told their official website: “By signing Ethan on loan, we’ve succeeded in bringing in a very talented and technically gifted midfielder.
“Given Giannis Konstantelias’s extended absence, it was important for us to be able to strengthen our roster at short notice.
“For us, signing Ethan was the best possible solution from a sporting perspective. We’re pleased that we were able to finalise this deal just before the transfer window closed.”
