A bright and sunny day gave way to dark skies and rain in several parts of Hyderabad on Wednesday (August 5, 2026), with the change in weather also leading to waterlogging and slow-moving traffic at a few locations.
After a largely clear start to the day, dark clouds began gathering over several parts of the city in the afternoon. Rain was reported after 3 p.m. from areas including Nacharam, Mallapur, ECIL and AS Rao Nagar. While the rainfall was not intense, intermittent showers were witnessed across multiple parts of the city through the evening.

According to data from Telangana Development Planning Society (TGDPS), as of 9 p.m., Chintal recorded 19.8 mm rainfall followed by 19.3 mm in Jeedimetla, 16 mm in Allwyn Colony, 15.3 mm in Bachupally, 14.5 mm in Golconda, 14.3 mm in Mehdipatnam, 13.8 mm in Kukatpally, 11.5 mm in Manikonda and 11 mm in Bowenpally.
