Jurors visited Jesse Baird’s former rental property in Paddington on Friday.

The inspection showed them the sites where the alleged murders occurred, as well as the locations where significant evidence was discovered.

Beau Lamarre-Condon was not present during the viewing.

Justice Natalie Adams told the jury a day earlier that seeing the property would help place the evidence in its proper context.

No new evidence was presented during the inspection, and the court did not resume proceedings on Friday afternoon.

The jury heard on Thursday that Lamarre-Condon’s service firearm, alleged to be the murder weapon, contained DNA from three different people, according to forensic biologist Lisa-Ann Wedervang.

Wedervang said Luke Davies, pictured below with Jesse Baird, was a major contributor to DNA recovered from the gun’s barrel, slide and slide lock.

The court heard that Lamarre-Condon could not be excluded as a minor contributor to the mixed DNA profile found on the firearm.

However, Davies’ DNA may also have been transferred to the weapon if Lamarre-Condon touched his body before handling the gun.

Lamarre-Condon, pictured below, says he wrestled with Davies over the firearm and that Davies accidentally shot himself.

Prosecutors allege instead that Lamarre-Condon shot Davies in the head through a door.

The court also heard from a former friend of Lamarre-Condon, who said she travelled from Western Australia to Sydney to find celebrities and have photos taken with them.

She met Lamarre-Condon in 2010 after discovering they shared the same pursuit. At the time, both were waiting outside Channel Seven’s Sunrise studio in Sydney for Pitbull.

The witness said Lamarre-Condon was particularly skilled at locating celebrities, including Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker.

She told the court that much of their contact centred on their mutual fascination with famous people.

When Crown prosecutors asked whether they shared any interests beyond celebrities, the friend replied: “Covid, I didn’t agree with it and I used to bounce off him, ask him questions and whatnot.”

She later explained that she opposed Covid vaccine mandates and had attended protests.

“I asked how a cop can push back against someone fighting for our freedoms, and he told me it was the devil’s work,” she said.

Asked if they had been close friends, she answered: “Close-ish, I thought we were.”

On February 20, the day after the alleged killings, Lamarre-Condon called the woman and asked whether she was free to speak by phone.

During that call, he asked if she could ‘do him a favour’.

‘He told me that he’d stolen some police files from the Commissioner and he wanted me to get rid of the phone,’ she told the court.

‘I agreed to do it … I told him I lived 1.5 hours from Perth and he said I needed to be 30km away from my house when I did it … I needed to turn the phone on and off, and then throw it in the water.’

Two days later, he called the friend again. She told the court Lamarre-Condon said that two detectives had been to his mother’s house, looking for him.

‘He said he was going to be set up for two guys that had gone missing and then he went on to ask me what I had to do with the phone, and I told him what I was going to do with the phone so he could hear it.’

The friend told the court that Lamarre-Condon said he was being set up by police. She said his tone appeared ‘normal’.

Days later, she was at her sister’s house when they saw news articles about Jesse Baird and Luke Davies, and Lamarre-Condon.

She told the court there was information in the news articles about how Baird’s friends continued receiving texts from his phone, even after he died.

‘I became very concerned and went to the police,’ she said.

The friend said she approached police near her home in WA.

She never received a package from Lamarre-Condon.
