In a market dominated by high-end electric scooters, finding a reliable and affordable option under Rs 50,000 can be a task. For students and daily office commuters, price often becomes the deciding factor — but that doesn’t mean compromising on utility. Several two-wheeler makers have stepped in with low-cost models offering decent range, basic features, and hassle-free maintenance.

Here are five electric scooters priced under Rs 50,000 that are suited for everyday urban rides:

OLA Gig

Priced at Rs 39,999 (average ex-showroom), the OLA Gig is an entry-level model designed for short-distance commutes. It offers a top speed of 25 kmph and a claimed range of 112 km on a full charge. Powered by a 1.5 kWh battery, it’s ideal for city use — especially in areas with traffic restrictions where low-speed scooters don’t require registration or a driving licence.

Ampere Reo

The Ampere Reo is priced at Rs 49,900 and delivers a range of around 70 km. With a top speed capped at 25 kmph and a 1.3 kWh battery pack, this scooter fits well into the needs of students or office workers whose daily rides stay within city limits. Its compact size and lightweight frame make it easy to manoeuvre in crowded areas.

OLA Gig+

A slightly more advanced version of the Gig, the Gig+ is priced at Rs 49,999. It offers a top speed of 45 kmph and an extended range of 157 km, thanks to a bigger 3 kWh battery. This model suits riders who want a little more performance without stepping into the higher price bracket.

Komaki X One

One of the most competitively priced options in this segment, the Komaki X One starts at Rs 35,999. It offers a range of up to 150 km and a top speed of 60 kmph. The scooter is available in four colours and five variants, giving customers multiple choices. Drum brakes are offered on both ends. It competes directly with other budget electric scooters such as the YUKIE Yuvee.

Odysse HyFy Electric Scooter

Odysse has positioned its HyFy model as a no-frills electric scooter aimed at budget-conscious buyers. While complete technical details are yet to be widely published, the key highlight remains its pricing — under Rs 50,000. The scooter is built for short city rides and focuses on providing affordable urban mobility.
