Alex Padilla was shoved out of a room, forced to the ground and handcuffed by security after attempting to ask a question during a Thursday press conference by Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem. "I am Senator Alex Padilla, I have questions for the secretary," Padilla said during the press conference where Noem was discussing protests in Los Angeles over President Donald Trump's immigration crackdown. As video circulated of the incident, officials and members on both sides of the aisle reacted. "I just saw something that sickened my stomach. The manhandling of a United States Senator. We need immediate answers to what the hell went on," said Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer." "I think the senator's actions, in my view, is that it was wildly inappropriate. You don't charge a sitting cabinet secretary," said House Speaker Mike Johnson.
