Ride or Die is Prime Video's new action series starring Ted Lasso's Hannah Waddingham and Octavia Spencer.

Streaming giant Prime Video is set to unleash a highly anticipated new series featuring Ted Lasso favourite Hannah Waddingham as international assassin Judith Burton. Ride or Die also boasts Octavia Spencer as Debbie Claybourne, an MP's wife and Judith's closest friend, whose world is thrown into turmoil upon discovering the shocking truth about Judith's secret profession.

Spencer and Waddingham, both of whom serve as executive producers on the show, have already featured in a brilliantly funny trailer, showcasing the pair's wonderfully warm friendship. Chaos ensues when the duo find themselves dodging bullets and fleeing from enemies, forcing Judith to finally come clean about who she really is. What is the Ride or Die release date?

Ride or Die centres on two best friends who believed they knew each other inside out — until it emerges that Judith is, in fact, an international assassin.

The synopsis reads: "When a mysterious figure emerges from Judith's past and a hit goes horribly wrong, both of their worlds are turned upside down as they're forced to go on the run together.

"It's a race against time and a road trip across Europe, with law enforcement, highly trained assassins, and some very dangerous criminals at their heels."

The series lands on Prime Video on Wednesday, July 15, with episodes available to stream from midnight.

Who is in the cast of Ride or Die?

Joining Spencer and Waddingham is Hollywood legend Bill Nighy, who portrays The Director, while Deadpool star Ed Skrein takes on the role of Billy Donovan.

Dutch actress and model Sylvia Hoeks features as Ana, alongside Bridgerton star Calam Lynch as Sam and Good Boy actress Savannah Steyn as Queenie.

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child star Jamie Parker portrays David, with Bridgerton's Kathryn Drysdale stepping into the role of Amanda.

Completing the cast are Fernando Santos as Diego and Jackie Ido as Jacques.

How many episodes are in Ride or Die?

The series consists of eight episodes, all of which land simultaneously on Prime Video, giving fans the opportunity to binge-watch to their hearts' content.

Waddingham revealed to Harper's Bazaar that she accidentally broke a door during filming. When quizzed about her most chaotic behind-the-scenes moment that didn't make the final cut, she said: "Maybe kicking a door so hard on a train that I knocked it off its hinges.

"I don't even remember doing it. I just didn't realise I had done it."

Ride or Die airs on Prime Video on July 15.
