Orgo-Life the new way to the future Advertising by AdpathwayThe Costa Rican Red Cross sent 16 rescue workers to Venezuela following the earthquakes that devastated that South American nation on June 24.
The delegation is scheduled to depart today, Friday, at 6 p.m. from Juan Santamaría International Airport.
The team will include medical, paramedic, and logistics personnel to address any needs that arise during the response. According to the organization, the team has extensive operational experience and specialized training in areas such as rescue from collapsed structures, search and rescue, emergency care, and other advanced intervention techniques.
“The mobilization is being carried out through coordination with the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies and the Venezuelan Red Cross, with the aim of strengthening the humanitarian response and pooling resources in the face of the emergency facing the Venezuelan people,” they added.
The Red Cross explained that its priority will be to assist affected communities and provide support to those facing the consequences of this emergency, in accordance with the principles of humanity, impartiality, neutrality, and cooperation.
On Wednesday, the Red Cross also announced the opening of a channel to facilitate contact with family members in Venezuela.

According to recent data from the International Organization for Migration, between 29,500 and 40,000 Venezuelans reside in Costa Rica.
