A Republican congresswoman has challenged Lindsey Graham to go and fight in Iran following repeated calls by the senator for South Carolina to launch further military operations there.

“There are some in the Senate that advocate for war everywhere. Lindsey Graham is one of them. He does NOT tell the President what to do, nor does he control Congress,” Anna Paulina Luna wrote on X on Monday.

“I have spoken with the administration a number of times, as well as other members of Congress over the last week or so, and nothing has changed regarding boots on the ground. NO BOOTS on the ground. If Senator Graham wants to go fight in a foreign conflict, let him be the first to volunteer.”

The Trump administration has bragged about the success of Operation Epic Fury, which has seen the U.S. strike more than 5,000 targets in Iran and sink more than 50 Iranian vessels.

Seven U.S service personnel have so far been killed in the military action, according to the Pentagon. Iranian state media says that nearly 1,000 people in the country have died since the war began on February 28.

Before the start of Operation Epic Fury, Graham had been vocal in his desire to see Donald Trump take military action in Iran.

Since the campaign began, he has continued to heap constant praise on the president and Israeli forces and threatened other countries in the wider Arab region who have not struck Iran, as well as Cuba and even Spain.

Luna, a stalwart backer of Trump, joins other right-wing figures who have been annoyed by Graham’s hawkish remarks.

“Since when did Lindsey Graham become our president?” conservative podcast host Megyn Kelly wrote on X Monday.

“Let’s get real. The problem with Lindsay Graham isn’t (just) that he’s a homicidal maniac, it’s that Trump likes and is listening to him, and Trump’s favorite channel is parading him around like a Hefner bunny in stockings on every show,” she added about Fox News.

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said that Trump continues to have a good relationship with Graham.

“Republicans are unanimously supportive of President Trump’s bold decision to launch combat operations and end the threat posed by the Iranian terrorist regime,” she said in a statement to Politico.

Trump’s Iran war, which saw $5.6 billion worth of weaponry fired during the first two days of the campaign, has also proved unpopular with the American people.

The latest polling showed that a majority of Americans are opposed to the military action in Iran, with 77 percent expecting it will result in a terror attack on U.S. soil.
