On the occasion of Quit India Movement Day, BJP leader and Union Minister of State L. Murugan on Sunday (August 9, 2026), remembered with deep gratitude those who took part in the historic Quit India Movement.

In a social media post, Mr. Murugan said: “Remembering with deep gratitude all those brave souls who participated in the historic Quit India Movement.”

“Inspired by the leadership of Mahatma Gandhi Ji, the clarion call of ‘Quit India’ infused new strength and determination into India’s freedom struggle. It reflected the unwavering resolve of our people to break the shackles of colonial rule and attain freedom. Their courage, sacrifice and spirit of patriotism will forever inspire generations of Indians,” he stated.
